Who I am
This website is owned and operated by Karina Rose, doing business as Bad Apple Society (“I,” “me,” or “my”), a sole proprietor based in New York, United States. I provide web design services, brand photography, and a contact/booking form through this site.

Information I collect
Information you give me
When you submit the contact or booking form, or otherwise reach out, I collect the information you choose to provide — typically your name, email address, and the contents of your message. If we work together, I may also collect project details, billing information, and anything else you share to deliver the service.

Information collected automatically
Like most websites, certain technical data is collected automatically when you browse — such as your IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed, and referring site. This comes through analytics tools and my hosting platform (see sections 4 and 6).

How I use your information
I use the information I collect to:

Respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about projects;
Provide, schedule, and deliver web design and photography services;
Process payments and send invoices;
Understand how visitors use the site so I can improve it;
Send updates or marketing emails only if you’ve opted in — you can unsubscribe anytime;
Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

Analytics & cookies
This site uses Google Analytics to understand traffic and visitor behavior in aggregate. Google Analytics sets cookies and may collect data such as your IP address and browsing activity. This information helps me see which pages are useful and how people find me — it is not used to personally identify you.

You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Google’s own practices are described in their privacy policy.

Payments
If you purchase a service, payments are processed by third-party providers such as Stripe and/or PayPal. Your payment card details are entered directly with these providers and are not stored by me. These processors handle your information under their own privacy policies and security standards (including PCI-DSS). I receive only the information needed to confirm payment and fulfill your order, such as your name and the amount paid.

How information is shared
I do not sell your personal information. I share it only with the service providers that help me run my business, and only as needed, including:

Showit — website hosting platform;
Google Analytics — site analytics;
Stripe / PayPal — payment processing;
Email and scheduling tools I use to communicate with you;
Professional advisors (e.g. an accountant) or authorities where required by law.
Each provider only receives what they need to perform their function.

Data retention
I keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes described here — to respond to you, complete a project, and meet legal or tax requirements. When it’s no longer needed, I delete it or anonymize it. You can ask me to delete your data at any time (see section 8).

Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information I hold about you;
Request that it be corrected or deleted;
Opt out of marketing emails at any time;
Object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise any of these, just email me at thebadapplesociety@gmail.com and I’ll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Security
I take reasonable measures to protect your information and rely on reputable providers (Showit, Stripe, PayPal, Google) that maintain their own safeguards. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and I can’t guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided me information, please contact me and I’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
